Detail story

Radha and Meera are born in every age.

Radha Rani was born as a daughter of chief Vrishabhanu Gopa and Kirti in Rawal village near Gokul-Mahavan town of Mathura district. Shri Radha Rani Ji was incarnated in a beautiful temple of Nikunj state, at that time it was the month of Bhadra, Ashtami Tithi of Shukla Paksha, Anuradha Nakshatra, noon on Monday. With her birth, this day is celebrated as Radha Ashtami.

Radha Rani ji was eleven months older than Shri Krishna ji. But Shri Vrishabhanu ji and Kirti Devi soon came to know that Shri Radha Rani ji has not opened his eyes since her birth. As soon as Shri Krishna came, face to face, Radha opened her eyes for the first time.

Every person has Mira in his heart. Whenever the longing of Thakurji arises in your heart, then understand that Meera is awakened. When the anxiety of seeing God increases, then understand that Meera has entered in you.

Mirabai was born to Ratan Singh in Kudki village of Sun Pali. She developed an interest in Krishna since childhood. Meera was married in the Sisodia royal family of Mewar.

Her husband was Maharaja Bhojraj of Udaipur who was the son of Maharana Sanga of Mewar. Shortly after the marriage, her husband died. After the death of her husband, everyone asked her to be sati, (a very bad ritual at that time that a woman has to enter the pyre of husband and finish herself.) but Meera was not ready for it. The last rites of Meera's husband took place in Chittor in her absence. Even after the death of her husband, Meera did not throw her ornaments as a widow. She considered Krishna as her husband.

She detached from everything to spend time with the company of sages and saints. She used to go to the temples and dance in front of Krishna.

The Royal family did not like her dancing and singing in Krishna temples. They tried to kill Mirabai several times by giving her poison.

Then she went to Dwarka and Vrindavan. Everyone respected her. People respect her as a goddess. Meera's mysticism and the nirguna mixed Sagun method of devotion became common.
